Athletes for Cancer’s feature
program is
Project Koru, a Survivorship Program.
Project Koru
enriches lives through community and the outdoors as a way to move forward
after cancer.
Location: The location of Camp Koru varies depending upon the camp. The Surf & Standup Paddling program is currently held in Maui, Hawaii. The Skiing & Snowboarding program is currently held in Oregon.
Duration: Camps run for six (6) days.

Age: 18-40 years old

Description: Participants partake in various challenges – surfing, standup paddling, outrigger canoeing, and snowboarding. These encounters force the young adult to overcome their fears and face life’s challenges. Relationships will form throughout the journey with peer survivors.
Benefit: Overcoming fears and gaining the will to overcome anxieties and face life’s challenges.
